Research Team

◥ Postdoctoral Research Fellows

Song Wentu received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Mathematics from Jilin University, China in 1998 and 2006, respectively, and his Ph.D. degree in Mathematics from Peking University in 2012, China. His research interests include coding theory, network coding, and network distributed storage.

Shi Long received his Ph.D. degree from the University of New South Wales, Australia, in December 2012. His research interests include physical layer network coding, channel coding, and wireless caching.

He Xuan received the B.E., M.E., and Ph.D. degrees in communication and information engineering from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC), Chengdu, China, in 2011, 2013, and 2018, respectively. From Oct. 2016 to Sep. 2017, he was a Visiting Student sponsored by the China Scholarship Council (CSC) with the University of Waterloo, Waterloo, ON, Canada. His current research interests include information theory, channel coding, pseudorandom sequence, and DNA data storage.

Tuan Thanh Nguyen received the B.Sc. degree and the Ph.D. degree in mathematics from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, in 2014 and 2019, respectively. He was a research fellow in the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, from Aug 2018 to Sep 2019. His research interest lies in the interplay between combinatorics and computer science/engineering, particularly including combinatorics and coding theory. His research project concentrates on error correction codes and constrained codes for communication systems and data storage systems, especially codes for DNA-based data storage.

Kang Peng received his B.E. degree in communications engineering from Fuzhou University, Fuzhou, China, in 2013, his master degree in telecommunications from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), Hong Kong SAR, in 2014 and his Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from The University of New South Wales (UNSW), Australia. From 2014 to 2015, he joined in the Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI) as a project intern. His research interests include channel coding theory, decoding algorithm design and its application in communication systems.

Zhong Xingwei received his B.E. and M.S. from South China University of Technology in 2016. He has been working toward the Ph.D. degree on coding and signal processing for emerging data storage systems.

Li Panpan received her B.E. degree from Harbin Institute of Technology in 2019. She has been working toward the Ph.D. degree on coding and signal processing since 2019.
