REMOTE LEARNING (DUE TO COVID19) – PERSONAL EXPERIENCES

I share about how I rapidly transformed by course from face-face instruction to remote learning and assessment. I share my initial reactions to that experience and resources that may help fellow educators from higher education.

IN-CLASS EXPERIENTAL EDUCATION – INDUSTRY GUEST LECTURERS

Inviting industry guest speakers in your classroom provides the opportunity for the experts to share their point of view and experience, which can enable students to have access to other professionals’ perspectives and engage in dialogue.

SERIOUS GAMES DESIGN, VALIDATION AND ACCREDITATION FRAMEWORK (SG-DiVA)

For each serious game design and development, there must be a process of validation before implementation. This is where we adopted the Mindbytes Evidence-based Serious Games Validation Model for developing Serious Games for Health by Verschueren et al. In this serious game’s design, development and validation framework, there are 6 stages that are described in detail here.

USING TEAM-BASED PROJECTS TO PREPARE FOR THE REAL WORLD

Taking students out of their comfort zones! An instructional method that puts students into roles of greater autonomy and collective responsibility for their learning. They pick up effective collaborative and communication skills that will serve them in their future.
