Research Assistant - MOE AcRF Tier 2 Research Grant - Optimal Robot Control
The Dynamics and Control Laboratory (DCL) at the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) invites applications for a Research Assistant position in the areas of ROBOT DESIGN and CONTROL. Applicants with expertise in WALKING ROBOT DESIGN and REAL-TIME MOTOR CONTROL are encouraged to apply. Previous experience with mechanical design and hardware-in-the-loop control is indispensable.
The successful applicant will play a key role in developing a WALKING ROBOT.

The position is guaranteed for a year to come with a possibility to extend for two additional years. Fully-funded PhD positions - President's Graduate Fellowship
Two fully funded PhD positions are available in the Dynamics and Control Laboratory (DCL) at the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). Candidates with research interest in Robotics, Dynamical Systems and Optimal Control are encouraged to apply. We seek highly motivated candidates with a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or Mathematics. We are interested in students with critical reasoning and a strong background in fundamental disciplines.
In the Dynamics and Control Laboratory we study fundamental aspects of robot dynamics, control and design. We utilize techniques from the fields of applied mechanics, nonlinear dynamics, optimal control and computational design. A list of research projects, which includes modeling and simulation of complex dynamical systems, control of legged locomotion as well as compliant (variable-impedance) actuation, can be found here.
Candidates with outstanding academic credentials will be funded by the SUTD President’s Graduate Fellowship. This prestigious Fellowship includes full tuition fees, monthly stipend as well as conference funding support.
