Dr Malik received his Master’s degree in Physics from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras, and another Master’s degree and a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. Prior to joining SUTD, Malik has worked as a Research Fellow at NUS and a Lecturer in University Brunei Darussalam. He is interested in the aspects of fluid mechanics that can be tracked using the methods of applied mathematics and computational fluid mechanics. Malik’s also has interests in the areas of super-fluid turbulence, convective heat transfer, stochastic dynamics of Brownian motions, nonlinear dynamics and electronic structure calculations.
At SUTD, he works on the nonmodal growth in boundary layer flow over compliant wall and in a pipe-flow of dilute polymers in the group of Prof. Roland Bouffanais.
